Darya Kryuchko, head of the Department of Translational Medicine and Innovative Technologies of the FMBA, told RIA Novosti that a device has been developed on the basis of the Agency's Institute of Physical and Chemical Medicine "to determine the presence of a virus antigen, which is based on the isothermal amplification method".

"The diagnostic system within 27 minutes (from the moment of sampling to the result) with a high degree of reliability determines the presence of antigen", - the expert noted.

In addition to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the system is capable of detecting other antigens.

Recall that earlier it became known about the activities carried out on the basis of the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. Blokhina works to create a biochip prototype for indexing actual pathogens of community-acquired pneumonia, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

At the end of 2020, the Vector Research Center created an express test that detects coronavirus within 18 minutes. The center indicated that such a test system is capable of increasing screening performance sixfold.
