One person died and four disappeared when a boat capsized in the Murmansk region

According to Interfax, the ship capsized. Information about the incident was received at 19:10 Moscow time.

"The boat left early in the morning in the direction of the border with Norway and was wrecked in the Varangian Gulf. There were six people on board the private boat. One was killed, one was rescued", - specifies the source of the publication. Four fishermen have been reported missing and are currently being searched for.

Rescuers are combing the area in a Mi-8 helicopter of the North-West Aviation Search and Rescue Center. The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that divers would join the search. However, the search for the missing was complicated by the dark. The bay, where the ship capsized, is shallow, which means that specialists will have to carefully consider the conduct of rescue operations. If necessary, the rescuers said, the ship "Mikula", involved in large-scale exercises in the Arctic, will be involved.

The Murmansk Transport Prosecutor's Office started checking the incident.
