Federal Air Transport Agency changed take-off and landing schemes at Sheremetyevo after complaints about the noise

Earlier, residents of Krasnogorsk and Solnechnogorsk urban districts, as well as Moscow Mitino complained about the endless noise, from which panic attacks, hypertension and nervous disorders began to develop. At the end of May, they sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin demanding to change the aircraft landing and take-off patterns.

Then, the president’s office admitted that the number of complaints about noise had increased, but at the same time they noted that Krasnogorsk is historically located within the boundaries of Sheremetyevo and is not a no-fly zone. The Federal Air Transport Agency assured that all routes were developed strictly in accordance with the rules. At the same time, the Moscow Region Rospotrebnadzor revealed that the aviation authorities did not take "real measures to reduce noise levels in the area of influence of Sheremetyevo airport".

According to Kommersant, on September 9, residents received a response from the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency, which spoke of the decision to change routes at Sheremetyevo. They assured that the new scheme would exclude a left turn towards the borders of Moscow, where the settlements of Mitino, Krasnogorsk, Yurlovo, Saburovo are located. Flights over these populated areas will be operated only during the daytime and only "in some cases, as directed by the air traffic services unit." At the same time, local residents have already noticed an improvement in the situation, calling the decision “a victory of common sense”.

At the same time, the State Air Traffic Management Corporation reported that the change in the schemes was not related to complaints from residents, since "adjustments took place throughout the Moscow zone of the unified ATM system as part of the optimization of the new air traffic scheme, taking into account the proposals of the carriers".

“Flight routes, departure and approach patterns at airports have become more convenient. For carriers, this solution will increase economic efficiency. Work has also been done to reduce aircraft noise”, - the Federal Air Transport Agency explained.

Recall that residents of Domodedovo complained about a similar problem. According to them, the level of noise from aircraft is such that it is impossible to hear each other while in the same room. At the same time, they assure that the planes fly below 1000 meters above ground level, which can lead to tragedies.
