Pilot Nikolai Makhnutin, who survived the crash of the L-410 aircraft in the Irkutsk region, called the failure of the navigation system the cause of the crash.

According to the telegram channel Baza, citing the words of the pilot, the emergency occurred due to a failure of the navigation system. In difficult weather conditions with fog and low visibility, the system steered the aircraft about 30 degrees to the right of the laid course. Because of this, the crew had to go around when landing.

“We were going around because I realized that the autopilot was driving us to the right. And during the climb we hit the hill”, - Makhnutin said.

Earlier, the version about the failure of the navigation system was also expressed by the head of the Kazachinskoye airport, Boris Kalinin. He told reporters that when landing at the airport, navigation took the L-410 pilots off course.

The L-410 plane crashed in the Irkutsk region on the evening of September 12. The crash killed four people and injured 12. Of these, 11 were hospitalized, including four in serious condition sent to the intensive care unit.

The board itself is completely destroyed. At the crash site, investigators found a flight recorder. The East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office has begun an investigation into the crash of the aircraft. A criminal case was initiated on violation of traffic safety rules and transport operation (part 2 of article 263 of the Criminal Code). It is being investigated by the Investigative Committee.

On September 15, in the Irkutsk region, mourning was announced for those killed in the plane crash.

The regional authorities have promised to provide assistance to the families of the victims and injured. The amount of material compensation, depending on the severity of the consequences, will range from 100 thousand to a million rubles.
