Russia has stopped technical design of a super-heavy rocket that it intended to use for flights to the moon.

Dmitry Baranov, General Director of the Samara Rocket and Space Center "Progress", told reporters that work on the creation of an oxygen-kerosene super-heavy rocket has been completely suspended for an indefinite period.

"CC" Progress "really stopped work on "Elements of STK", - said Baranov in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Earlier it was assumed that Roskosmos intended to deploy a new orbital station and develop an automatic interplanetary station "Luna-25" to send it into space in May 2022.

At the same time, the design of a super-heavy vehicle for flights to the moon was intended to be completed in October 2021. However, work on the project was frozen.

Earlier it was reported that the heads of space programs do not have enough funds to update the existing equipment of the ISS and space suits for spacewalks.

Operation of the ISS should be completed in 2028. Russia plans to withdraw from the project. For this, a Russian orbital service station is currently under construction with the functions of a space port. Work on the first module of this station should be completed by 2025. The station is planned to be opened by the time of the completion of the operation of the Russian segment of the ISS in 2028.

The state of the current ISS is assessed as unsatisfactory. Astronauts are forced to spend a quarter of their working time in space repairing it. Earlier reports of repeated air leaks from this station were reported. The astronauts found and patched several cracks through which air was leaking, but the pressure is still dropping. Astronauts keep looking for leaks.
