Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to make a lump sum payment of 50 thousand rubles to veterans who were awarded the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad" or the badge "Resident of besieged Leningrad".

Putin has already signed the corresponding decree. The document is posted on the Kremlin website. It notes that the payment will be made in connection with the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Road of Life.

At the same time, the presidential decree will affect the citizens of Russia living in the territory of the Russian Federation, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Transnistria.

The Russian government was instructed to provide funding for the costs associated with the implementation of this decree, as well as to determine the procedure and conditions for making payments to veterans.

We will remind, earlier Putin ordered to pay 10 thousand rubles to all pensioners and 15 thousand rubles to the military. This decision was made due to high inflation.
