According to the preliminary results of the voting, promulgated by the CEC, all current regional leaders are leading in the elections of the heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Among the nine heads of the subjects, only two - Russians (KPRF) and Degtyarev (LDPR) - were not formally nominated with the direct support of United Russia.

In another 39 regions, deputies of regional, territorial and republican legislative assemblies were elected. At the same time, in Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia and North Ossetia, heads of regions are not elected directly by citizens, but by deputies of the Legislative Assembly on the proposal of the president.
