Face Pay system has started working at all Moscow metro stations

At all metropolitan metro stations, you can now pay by using the face. The Face Pay system was launched in test mode at all 241 metro stations in the capital.

However, so far, only 15 thousand passengers who agreed to take part in the experiment can pay for travel in this way. In addition, the employees of the metro will pay for the fare in this way, vesti.ru writes.

The experiment will last until mid-October, after which anyone will be able to use such a fare payment system.

After the system becomes publicly available, in order to use this payment method, you will need to go to the Moscow Metro application, attach your own photo, and link your account to your bank card. To pay for travel by face, you will need to go to a special turnstile and look into the camera. You do not need to take off the mask - the system recognizes the face anyway. The system will automatically debit funds from the passenger's account. When the payment is completed, the green light will turn on and the turnstile will let the person through.

In total, about five thousand cameras have been installed at stations in the metropolitan subway.

The city authorities expect that after the introduction of this system, the throughput of the turnstiles will increase.

Passengers of the metropolitan subway will be able to choose the most convenient payment method for them. All current options remain valid.

In the future, it is planned to introduce payment of travel with the help of a person when paying for travel to the MCC and MCD, as well as in land transport in the capital.
