Perm student with a guitar was mistaken for the second shooter

As a student of Perm State National Research University Yuri Beresnev said, on September 20 he came to the university for the annual music audition. He was dressed in dark clothes, and in his hands was a guitar in a military-style case, in connection with which the security officials mistakenly decided that he might be an accomplice of the Perm shooter, and began to search for him.

“At first there was information that there were several attackers. This version was worked out by law enforcement officers. The guard apparently remembered me and sent the police to me. They examined me. I believe that this happened after the attacker was liquidated", - RIA Novosti quotes the words of the musician.

On the day of the attack, an undergraduate student Yuri Beresnev was in the seventh building - adjacent to the one where the emergency occurred, and connected to it by a passage.

When the music audition for the young candidates was over , the senior students, including Yuri, stayed to discuss the results. From social networks, they learned that an attack had been made on the university: eyewitnesses wrote about this in a group of the university.

“We closed the door with a key. There was nothing to barricade with: there were only large speakers in the room, but they could not be moved. Of the young men - only me, the rest - girls from the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology”, - said an eyewitness.

He added that when he found drum fasteners in the room, he was preparing to protect lives - those around him and his own.

“In the auditorium, I found fasteners from the drum - a heavy pipe, pointed at the end. I thought that if I had to, I would rush to the killer with her. At that moment there was only one thought: “Either I'll kill, or I'll be killed”, - he later told reporters.

The incident at the Perm State National Research University happened on the morning of September 20. First-year student Timur Bekmansurov burst into the university with firearms and started shooting at those around him. As a result of the attack, six people were killed and another 24 were injured.

Subsequently, it turned out that the total number of victims of the incident rose to 43.

On September 21, several wounded by the sanitary aviation were sent to Moscow for treatment. Now there are 12 people in hospitals in Perm.

"There is only one heavy one - this is a shooter", - said the head of the Perm Ministry of Health Anastasia Kruten.

According to her, the shooter is in an unstable, extremely serious condition, part of his left leg was amputated.

The inspector of the traffic police of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Perm, junior police lieutenant Konstantin Kalinin, who, together with a colleague, was one of the first to arrive at the university building, was able to neutralize the raider. During the arrest, the offender resisted, was wounded and taken to the hospital.

On the fact of the state of emergency in the university, a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Murder”.
