According to Interfax with reference to the data of the capital's meteorological office, a total of 34 mm of precipitation fell in Moscow. This is 52% of the September norm, the monthly norm for which is 65 mm.
Earlier forecasters warned Muscovites about a powerful three-day rainstorm, which may be the strongest in 73 years of meteorological observations.
The southern Black Sea cyclone became the cause of bad weather with torrential rains and strong gusty winds in the capital region. Forecasters indicated that wind gusts can reach 18 meters per second.
It is expected that from the second half of the week the rains will subside and slightly warmer.
At the beginning of the week, the air temperature in Moscow was very low - from 5 to 7 degrees, which is 3-5 degrees below the average climatic norm. Forecasters note that from Thursday, the daytime temperature will start to rise slightly and can reach 10-12 degrees. Cloudy and wet weather is expected in the region on weekends. The sun will come out only on Monday 27 September.
