Elections24.1% of the vote, according to official preliminary results released by the Federal Election Commission, is won by the CDU / CSU bloc of incumbent German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the elections to the Bundestag. This is the lowest level of support in history.
The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) of Olaf Scholz (pictured) won the elections with 25.7% of the vote.
The Greens won 14.8% of the votes, the Free Democratic Party of Germany (FDP) 11.5%, and the Alternative for Germany 10.3% . The "Lefts" were unable to overcome the 5% threshold, their result was 4.9%.
According to the results of exit polls, the predictions for the outcome of the vote were different. A poll by the ZDF TV channel predicted a victory for the Social Democrats, while the ARD pointed to the equality of votes between the SPD and the CDU / CSU.
