The Moscow City Court changed the verdict of the oppositionist Lyubov Sobol in the so-called "sanitary case" - a case of violation of sanitary and epidemiological standards during the spread of coronavirus during uncoordinated opposition protests in January this year.

Earlier, the court sentenced her to 1.5 years of restriction of freedom with a ban on certain actions.

"If earlier she had to notify the supervisory authority about the planned trips outside the Moscow region, now she needs to obtain permission for this. In the rest of the sentence, the verdict remained unchanged", - her lawyer told Interfax.

Lyubov Sobol is forbidden to leave the house from ten o'clock in the evening until six o'clock in the morning. She cannot change her place of residence without notice. In addition, she is prohibited from attending mass events, as well as leaving the Moscow region without notice.

A few days after the verdict was announced in August, Lyubov Sobol left the country. She is now in Istanbul.

Several other supporters of the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny are being accused in the "sanitary case". Some cases have already been sentenced. In particular, the brother of the Russian oppositionist Oleg Navalny received a suspended year.
