Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree dismissing Anna Kuznetsova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights. She resigned in connection with the election to the State Duma.

By a second decree, the president dismissed his adviser Vladimir Vasiliev from his post. He was also elected to the State Duma.

Anna Kuznetsova was appointed Children's Ombudsman in September 2016. Prior to that, she headed several charitable foundations. She was awarded the Order of Friendship, medals of the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the commemorative award "In memory of the 700th anniversary of the birth of St. Sergius of Radonezh" and the badge "For good deeds" III degree of the Penza diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
