Primorsky investigators opened a criminal case against the former head of Vladivostok, Oleg Gumenyuk, under the article on accepting a bribe on an especially large scale.

The investigation insists on the version according to which in the period from 2019 to 2021 Gumenyuk regularly received “bribes in the form of money” from the heads of the MUPV “Necropolis” and through intermediaries for general patronage in the provision of funeral services.

“In total, more than 19.5 million rubles have been transferred to him during this time,” said the representative of the UK for the region Aurora Rimskaya. She also pointed out that Gumenyuk had been detained, and the question of choosing a preventive measure against him is currently being resolved.

Recall that Gumenyuk resigned on May 18 after criticism from the plenipotentiary representative Yuri Trutnev. On June 4, searches were carried out at Gumenyuk's place, but it was not reported on which case the investigative actions were being carried out. Later it became known that we are talking about a "cemetery" investigation.

Note that "Necropolis" is the only specialized service in Vladivostok for funeral affairs. After August 1, the enterprise suspended its work.
