Alexander Bastrykin instructed to initiate a case on the beating of a metro passenger by Dagestanis

The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the department to initiate a criminal case into the beating of Roman Kovalyov in the Moscow metro by three visitors. The case will be initiated under the articles on attempted murder and violence against a government official.

Let us remind you that the incident happened on the evening of October 4, three natives of Dagestan beat 25-year-old Kovalyov in a metro carriage on the stretch of honey at the Izmailovskaya and Pervomayskaya stations. Videos appeared on social networks showing how three men kicked Kovalyov, who was lying on the floor. Blood is visible on the victim. According to eyewitnesses, Kovalyov stood up for the girl who was insulted by the Dagestanis using foul language.

All three are charged with Part 2. Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism"). The sanction of this article provides for a fine from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles or forced labor for up to five years, or imprisonment for up to seven years.

Bastrykin demanded an immediate investigation.

Earlier, investigators asked the prosecutor's office to hand over to them and the police the materials of the case of the beating of the passenger.
