By the end of the year, cigarettes will rise in price by 10 rubles

This was reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the analysts of the operator of the fiscal data OFD.ru. After analyzing the dynamics of sales of cigarettes and electronic heating systems during the first half of this year in comparison with the same period of the previous year, experts came to the conclusion that "the cost of traditional cigarettes in the second half of 2021 may be 140-145 rubles per pack".

According to their observations, cigarettes have already risen in price. On average, the price per pack increased by 12.4% - from 120.8 rubles last year to 135.8 rubles in 2021. Analysts point out that this is due to an increase in excise taxes on tobacco and tobacco products from January 1.

Sticks from January to June this year kept their last year's price - about 155 rubles per pack. Experts predict a 5-7% increase in the price of sticks by the end of the year.

It's worth reminding that despite the desire of legislators to equate the smoking of electronic cigarettes with ordinary tobacco smoking, 59% of Russians believe that this is a completely different product. It is difficult to say how harmful electronic cigarettes are in comparison with conventional ones, since there are no long-term observations of smokers on them.
