Two Muscovites described how they were sold into slavery in Dagestan

According to the telegram channel Mash, Pyotr and Olga intended to spend their summer vacation at Cape Fiolent in Sevastopol. We decided to get to the place by hitchhiking.

The bus driver on the Don highway promised to give them a lift, but warned him that he had to stop by in Stavropol on the way.

However, when, after the night drive, the travelers woke up, they found out that they had not been brought to Crimea, but to Dagestan.

On the spot, Pyotr learned from the driver, he, along with his girlfriend, as well as all the other passengers of the bus, in Derbent were sold into slavery to a local entrepreneur for 50 thousand rubles.

Instead of resting on the seashore, the couple found themselves in appalling conditions in the village of Novaya Maka.

The entrepreneur Yamudin Akhmedov, who "bought" people, explained that the money spent on their purchase "slaves" would have to work out.

The slaves were raised every day at 4 a.m. and driven to work in greenhouses, where it was necessary to stay all day. At night, people were locked in an unsuitable barn.

“Only in early October, Pyotr found a hatch under a pile of rubbish and the prisoners managed to escape,” the newspaper notes.

Back in Moscow, the fugitives went to the police. They hope that the capital's investigators will be able to sort out the case of the modern slave trade. The prisoners complained that their statements to the Dagestan police were in vain.

Novye Izvestia has not yet received an official comment from the Russian Interior Ministry on this case.

Earlier, a similar case came to court in Kostroma. The Sverdlovsk District Court of the regional center passed a guilty verdict on a local resident who was accused of using slave labor: the defendant was sentenced to four years of real imprisonment.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, in June 2015, a 39-year-old employee of the Kostroma charcoal procurement company decided to increase his profits by using slave power. On the territory of the regional center, he caught two homeless people, pushed them into his car under the threat of an ax and took them to a sawmill outside the city. The cruel "slave owner" forced them to work as charcoal burners at a mini-factory for processing wood into charcoal.

“The victims could not refuse to work and leave the place of work, because the convict used violence and expressed death threats. Their work was not paid”, - writes RG.

Unable to withstand the hard labor conditions, the slaves managed to escape from their enslaver and turn to the police. When the operatives figured out the location of the coal plant and descended on it, accompanied by SOBR fighters, the attacker was detained. A criminal case was opened against him under the article "the use of slave labor, committed against two or more persons, with the use of violence and the threat of its use".

Taking into account the opinion of the public prosecutor, the court sentenced the "slave owner" to four years in a general regime colony.
