* The terrorist organization "Taliban" is banned in the Russian Federation
"The Roskomnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications) Department for the Central Federal District (hereinafter referred to as the Department) revealed the fact of publication by the network publication Novye Izvestia on-line (registration from 02.11.2020, series El No. FS77-79279) of the material" Germany has suspended economic aid to Afghanistan "at the address: https: //newizv.ru/news/world/17-08-2021/germaniya-priostanovila-ekonomicheskuyu-pomosch-afganistanu, containing information about an organization included in the published unified federal list of organizations, including foreign and international organizations recognized in accordance with with the Federal Law of 06.03.2006 No. 35-FZ "On Countering Terrorism" by terrorist, without indicating that the relevant public association or other organization has been liquidated or their activities are prohibited, which is a violation of the requirements of Article 4 of the Law of the Russian Federation of 27.12.1991 No. 2124-1 "On the Mass Media".
Needless to say, the RKN operates strictly according to the law, and the NI writer, putting an asterisk after the Taliban banned in Russia, forgot to attribute that it was banned in Russia. We repent. It happens. And upon receiving the letter from RKN, we immediately added the missing disclaimer. Although there are no guarantees that the case of an administrative violation will go to the magistrate, and the editor-in-chief will not be fined 5 thousand rubles, there are no. The machine for collecting fines works for us flawlessly - justices of the peace are selling punishments to editors "automatically".
But this is not surprising.
Today, October 10, the state agency TASS publishes the following news:
"The delegation of the radical Taliban movement that has seized power in Afghanistan (banned in the Russian Federation) met in the capital of Qatar, Doha, with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Emirate, Mohammed bin Abdel Rahman Al Thani," a representative of the radicals said on his Twitter page on Sunday and Deputy Minister of Information and Culture in the Afghan Interim Government, Zabihullah Mujahid.
"The parties discussed friendly relations, economic projects on Afghan territory (highlighted by us - ed.) And a number of other issues. Mr. Al Thani confirmed that Qatar is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan. In turn, the [appointed by the Taliban] temporary head Afghan Foreign Ministry Mawlavi Amir Khan Mottaki thanked the Qatari side for cooperation and emphasized the importance of strengthening relations in the future", - the message says.
The Taliban delegation that arrived in Doha on Friday is holding talks here with diplomats from a number of countries and members of international organizations, in particular with representatives of the US State Department and the European Union".
Did you notice anything strange in the TASS report?
But it, the very strange, is really there.
The Taliban terrorist gang is no longer called terrorist. Instead of a precise definition, a crafty euphemism was invented - RADICALS.
He is crafty, because in the mass consciousness the term "radicalism" does not have an unambiguously negative connotation. The desire to radically change the existing (and often unfit!) Social system is in many cases a virtue of radicals (read - heroes who challenge the forces of evil at the cost of their own lives).
But the term "terrorism" in the mentality of normal people leaves no chance of bleaching terrorists. And in the legal sense, terrorists are equal to criminals.
But TASS and the Russian authorities decided to substitute concepts. And therefore, the style of news about the visit of terrorists to their spiritual comrades-in-arms in Qatar is officially neutral, as if we are talking about the legitimate and world-recognized government of Afghanistan, which is so successfully establishing international relations.
This is understandable: such remarks justify the contacts of the Russian Foreign Ministry with the Taliban leadership. Diplomacy and the highest interests of the Russian Federation simply ooze from every line.
But guys and girls, what about the Federal Law of 06.03.2006 No. 35-FZ "On Countering Terrorism" and Art. 4 of the Law of the Russian Federation of December 27, 1991 No. 2124-1 "On the Mass Media"?
Do these legal documents apply only to the private media Novye Izvestia? Or do apply to the TASS agency and the other state media as well?
The questions, however, are rhetorical. There will be no answers.
There will be another fine, most likely from the magistrate...
BY THE WAY
Another state agency, RIA Novosti, did not hesitate to call the Taliban a terrorist organization. Although the overall tone of the article is also more than positive.
