Residents of the Yakut village were surprised by the dropping of potatoes from the air

The head of the district, Yakov Eliseyev, explained that this is the first time food is delivered to the village. Previously, food was delivered to the village by helicopter. Now sacks of potatoes weighing about 900 kilograms were dropped by parachute from the air. The products have successfully landed in the field.

"We ourselves are in shock. This is the first time that things happen like that. The delivery was always carried out by an Mi-8 helicopter, but they did not drop it. Moreover, in such freezing temperatures", - the head of the region commented to Podem.

He added that the delivery of food in the region is carried out by Yakutopttorg.

The organization commented that they decided to drop food from the plane because this time it was necessary to use the An-2 plane to deliver them.

Yakov Eliseyev added that so far only potatoes have been delivered to the village in this way. In the near future, cabbage, onions and beets, as well as fruits are to be brought.
