"The trend reversal to positive dynamics occurred in the third quarter of 2021 and showed an increase of 27.4% in monetary terms and 58.7% in physical terms compared to the same pre-pandemic period in 2019", - RIA Novosti cites research data.
Analysts explained that this trend is primarily due to the effect of deferred demand. Since the beginning of 2020, many citizens were forced to give up travel, they began to actively purchase tours as soon as the restrictions were lifted. In addition, the increase in spending was influenced by the rise in prices for tickets and hotels this year. Another factor was the active summer period, when citizens buy tours with children during the summer holidays.
Growth in monetary terms compared to the third quarter of 2020 amounted to 278.4%, in physical terms - 121.2%. The most expensive tours were to Turkey for 2.9 million rubles, to the United Arab Emirates - for 1.9 million rubles and to Crimea - for 1.2 million rubles.
It's worth reminding that from November 1, another popular destination will be open for Russians again - Bangkok. In order to visit the Thai capital, tourists do not have to go through quarantine. For vaccinated citizens, nine more provinces of Thailand will also be available to visit.
