Igor Talkov Jr.: "I will protect graffiti with my father's image at the cost of my life"

On Liteiny Prospekt in St. Petersburg, on a transformer booth, until recently contaminated with any traditional yard daub, a wonderful portrait of the famous rock singer Igor Talkov appeared the other day.

This work was created with the assistance of Talkov's son, musician Igor Talkov Jr. (MirIMir), and fans of the performer who was killed in 1991. However, since the graffiti has not been approved by the local authorities, it is threatened with extinction. October 6 marks exactly 30 years since the tragic death of the famous rock singer Igor Talkov, which shook the whole of our country. The singer at that time was only 34 years old. Talkov was shot dead in St. Petersburg at the Yubileiny Sports Palace shortly before going on stage. This crime is still considered the loudest in the history of Russian show business and, in fact, has not been solved, the course of the investigation raises many questions.

In memory of one of the brightest and most beloved performers of the turning point in the history of Russia, a graffiti portrait of Talkov was created in the city on the Neva.

“I, Igor Igorevich Talkov, demand from the so-called authorities URGENTLY! to give (or you can sell it) permission for the image (graffiti) created by us, of my father, the People's Singer of Russia, at the address: Liteiny prospect 37-39.

If LenEnergo even tries to harm the image, I warn you that their employees will have to physically eliminate me (which is extremely undesirable and dangerous !!!). And, yes: for me it is a matter of honor to protect my father's face! ” Igor Talkov Jr. posted on Instagram a photo of his handwritten letter.

Igor Talkov Jr., in a video message, urged Russians to write to LenEnergo's e-mail [email protected] letters demanding to approve the placement of graffiti.

“In general, friends, I physically defend the portrait of my father. That is, I will not allow anyone to approach the portrait of my father with the aim of deforming it, at the cost of my life I will not allow to do this, it's just a matter of principle for me. I ask all competent people to competently write official statements requiring official permission from the authorities - to prosper for this beautiful creation in this beautiful city. The more statements there are, the better", - said Igor Talkov Jr.

Igor Talkov, who glorified our Motherland and predicted its inevitable rebirth, Igor Talkov, who promised to return to the country “not fools, but geniuses,” Igor Talkov, whom many remember and honor as a most talented person, as a singer of freedom, as a prophet, who certainly believes into the prosperous and happy future of our country ... looks at us TODAY from the wall in St. Petersburg with a heartfelt gaze! ”, - wrote Talkov's fans in a petition in defense of the image.

“Graffiti is not agreed. We appeal to the leaders of the city of St. Petersburg, to the leaders of Rosseti Lenenergo, to public figures who are indifferent to the history of our Great country, with a request to do everything possible to preserve the portrait of Igor Talkov on Liteiny Avenue ... in the country of geniuses, ”it is noted in circulation.
