In Moscow, the daily increase in new cases of covid grew by more than 50%

As follows from the data of the operational headquarters for monitoring the situation with the coronavirus, over the past day, 6,712 infected were identified in Moscow. A day earlier, 4410 cases of covid were reported. That is, the incidence in the capital increased by 52%. This is the highest figure since July 9, 2021, when 6643 new COVID-19 diagnoses were made.

Also, 72 people died from coronavirus in the capital in a day. In total, the virus claimed the lives of 29,952 Muscovites. The mortality rate approached the indicators of the beginning of August.

During the day, 3136 patients recovered and were discharged from medical institutions. In total, 1,522,320 people have coped with the disease in Moscow.

As for the anti-records, on October 8, the highest death rate from COVID-19 in Russia was noted - 936 deaths per day.

At the same time, scientists previously reported that the covid tests used in medicine may be inaccurate and not determine the presence of the virus in all patients. In this case, patients who are not aware of their condition will spread the infection.
