Families of people killed during a cyclone on Sakhalin will be paid half a million rubles

Two people died in Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky when the roof collapsed as a result of a powerful hurricane. Their families will be paid 500 thousand rubles each.

As the Governor of the Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko specified, the relatives of the victims of the disaster will receive “not only financial assistance”. The amount of 1 million rubles for the provision of one-time material assistance was allocated from the reserve fund of the regional government.

On the eve it became known that two people died in the collapse of blood due to strong winds in Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky. One person died on the spot, the second victim died in the hospital from her injuries.

On October 18, a Mi-8 EMERCOM helicopter departed from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport with a Sakhalinenergo representative on board. The specialist, together with the crew, inspect the overhead power transmission line in hard-to-reach areas on the territory of the Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky and Tymovsky districts to fully restore the power supply in the settlements. To date, ten thousand people remained without electricity in five districts of the region. In Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky, Nogliki and Smirnye, electricity is partially lacking.
