"The idea of creating an autonomous Runet with a set of services similar to those in the world is fully supported by 15% of Russians, and another 31% are more likely to support it. However, 32% of the respondents are rather negative about this idea, and another 22% - sharply negative", - said the researchers.
Only 2% do not use the Internet, and 73% of them said that they literally cannot live without the World Wide Web.
66% of respondents consider disconnecting Russians from the global network a violation of their rights to free access to information. Basically, they talked about this in Siberia - 72%, in the Urals and the Central Federal District - about 69%. Less than others thought about it in the North Caucasus - 55% and in the North-West Administrative District - 59%.
19% of respondents believe that it is impossible to technically disconnect the country from the Internet, because users will find ways to bypass the blocking. 12% indicated that despite the usefulness of the possibility of completely disconnecting the country from the network, this is still not worth doing. 3% stated that they share the position on the need to disconnect Russia from the Internet.
Earlier, we note that experts pointed out that very soon the Russian authorities will begin to strengthen state control over technology corporations and the mass user, as well as tightening the rules for staying in the digital space.
