According to Urin, the Bolshoi Theater joined the event with its own orchestra and choir. The chief conductor, musical director of the Bolshoi Theater Tugan Sokhiev will take the stand.
- Everything that concerns the content of the concert itself, this part of the load and responsibility was taken by the Vishnevskaya Center. Mostly his students. Galina Pavlovna always thought about the future generation. For us, this is fundamental, - said the head of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater.
The evening will feature excerpts from operas by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Amilcar Ponchielli, Giuseppe Verdi, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Ruggiero Leoncavallo, Anton Arensky, Gaetano Donizetti, Georges Bizet, Alexander Borodin, Jacques Offenbach, Gioacchino Rossucini, Giacini. Recall that today marks the 95th anniversary of the birth of Galina Vishnevskaya. World Opera Day is celebrated on the same day.
Vishnevskaya was called “the queen of the opera” and “Galina the Great”.
- I never went out to sing for the audience. I sang for God. And so I lay down on the floor when I said goodbye to the theater, - said Vishnevskaya herself.
In the 1970s, she and her husband, Mstislav Rostropovich, were deprived of their Soviet citizenship. They left the country for two decades after supporting Alexander Solzhenitsyn. At this time, the prima performed with great success in the best theaters abroad. She returned to her homeland in the 1990s and opened her own theater.
The legendary artist died at the age of 87.
