Earlier, the verdicts were read out to eight defendants in this case. The court continues to read out their operative part in the framework of civil claims, the newspaper notes. In particular, earlier the court ordered employers to pay each close relative 60 of the dead for a million rubles.
Thus, the head of the fire fighting service of the first Kemerovo fire fighting unit, Andrei Bursin, was sentenced to six years. He was found guilty of “not organizing the reconnaissance of the fire properly”, which resulted in 60 deaths.
The head of the fire guard of the second fire and rescue unit of Kemerovo Sergey Genin was sentenced to five years in a general regime colony. He was found guilty of the death of 37 people. It was he who directed his subordinates along the long path to the cinema, not checking the plans-schemes and ignoring the words of an eyewitness who pointed to a short path. During the trial, he pleaded not guilty, noting that his subordinates did everything they could.
The verdicts were also announced to Yulia Bogdanova, Director General of Kemerovo Confectionery Plant (the company owns the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center), who was sentenced to 14 years, and to Nadezhda Suddenok, the general director of the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center, who was sentenced to 13.5 years.
As a reminder, the Kemerovo court is considering the case of a fire in a shopping center that occurred on March 25, 2018. The fire killed 60 people, most of them children. The source of the fire fell on the upper floor of the shopping center, where game rooms with attractions are located.
After a fire in a shopping center, a number of criminal cases were opened, 15 suspects were arrested. Among them are the owners and managers of this shopping center, its security guard, as well as the persons who were responsible for putting this building into operation, installing a fire alarm in it.
