“Currently, unvaccinated people make up the vast majority of those in need of intensive inpatient care and place a disproportionate burden on our health resources,” the country's health ministry said.

Now all Singaporeans who are admitted to hospitals after December 8, 2021 will have to pay medical bills out of their own pockets. This applies to all citizens, except for children under 12 years old and those who are prohibited from covid vaccination for medical reasons.

The country's authorities pay coronavirus medical bills for all citizens, permanent residents, holders of long-term passes. The exceptions are those who have been diagnosed with the virus as a result of an overseas trip.

According to the ministry, 85% of the population in Singapore is now vaccinated against covid, 18% received a booster dose of the drug.

This summer, it was reported that Singaporeans can be tested as much as they want and for free, however, as soon as the result is positive, they will be isolated, as well as the identification of all persons with whom they have come into contact.
