Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov commented on the introduction of a bill to the State Duma on the introduction of QR-codes at the federal level. He called this measure urgent and inevitable.

"The Cabinet of Ministers proceeds from the fact that it is necessary to legislatively formalize actions (on the introduction of QR codes - ed.) At the federal level. And just individual decisions that are made within the framework of special powers by the regions speak of the relevance and necessity, expediency and inevitability such decisions", - the president's press secretary commented. His words are quoted by TASS.

Dmitry Peskov added that it is too early to comment on this issue in detail, since work on this bill has just begun.

It should be reminded that on November 12, the government submitted to the State Duma for consideration bills on the introduction of unified QR-codes throughout the country. If these bills are adopted, as early as February 1, 2022, Russians will be able to attend public events, restaurants and cafes, cultural institutions only by QR-codes, or by certificates of a recent illness. The authorities also propose introducing QR codes checking when buying train and plane tickets.
