An updated list of regions of the Far North is approved

"The government has approved a list of regions of the Far North and equivalent territories. The list of regions of the Far North was compiled in 1992-1994, after which it underwent many changes. The new version of the list is more structured and corresponds to the modern municipal-territorial structure of the country", - the government said.

Let us remind you that on November 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled Boris Yeltsin's decree, according to which some regions of Karelia were equated to the territories of the Far North. The Republic of Komi, Buryatia and the Komi-Permyatsky Autonomous Territory are also excluded from the list.
