Such data follow from a letter to the government of the deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut, the text of which is referred to by Izvestia.

"This year, the climatic conditions were the most unfavorable for potatoes. Despite this, 6.6 million tons of potatoes have already been dug up, which corresponds to the level of last year, the harvesting of the crop continues, the Ministry of Agriculture indicated and added that the harvested crop will meet the domestic needs of the country".

It's worth reminding that Rusprodsoyuz was warned about the rise in prices for vegetables before the New Year.

By the way, the Central Bank said that consumer prices have grown at their maximum since 2015. In October, inflation in Russia rose by 0.73 percentage points - up to 8.13% in annual terms: almost half of the increase was associated with the rise in prices for vegetables and fruits, a quarter - with the rise in prices for meat and milk.
