State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Valery Rashkin, suspected of illegal hunting, admitted that he had killed an elk. He recorded a video message in which he told how he shot the animal.

The deputy said that he mistook a moose in the gun sight for a "silhouette of a wild boar". Earlier, during the arrest, we recall, he said that he found a killed moose while walking through the forest and took it with him to take it to the police.

Earlier it was reported that on October 29, four kilometers from the village of Lysye Gory in the Saratov region, there was “illegal hunt of one wild animal - a moose”.

The police opened a criminal case on illegal hunting (paragraph "a", part 1 of article 258 of the Criminal Code). Near the place where the carcasses were cut, law enforcement officers found two cases from a hunting rifle, one of which contained a carbine with a night vision sight, the second contained a tripod and cartridges, as well as a permit to carry this weapon in the name of Valery Rashkin. A shot bullet and a cartridge case were also found there, while the deputy did not have permission to hunt moose. The findings were sent for examination.

After that, the Prosecutor General appealed to the State Duma with a demand to remove parliamentary immunity from the deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Valery Rashkin, because of suspicion of illegal elk hunting.
