WHO: unvaccinated people became the main distributors of covid

- Unvaccinated people are the main spread of the virus. We urge everyone who has the right to be vaccinated to take this opportunity and be sure to go through the full vaccination cycle. This is particularly important for priority groups, such as people aged 60 and older, and people with weakened immune systems - leads RIA News Message of the WHO European Office.

The organization noted that to date, more and more research proves the effectiveness of preventive measures in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. For example, wearing masks, as well as airing rooms, is important, but the effect of these measures is greatly enhanced when used together with other measures.

Maximum protection against the virus, the WHO stressed, is provided by a combination of measures such as the use of masks, hand and respiratory hygiene, physical distancing, adequate ventilation in rooms, testing, contact tracing, quarantine, isolation.

Note that the so-called fourth wave of coronavirus is underway in the world. Experts predicted the peak of this wave in Russia in December. At the same time, the fifth wave has already begun in France. To reduce the percentage of cases, the country's authorities are strenuously pursuing a vaccination program. Meanwhile, Slovakia has announced an emergency response due to the growing incidence of covid.
