According to the head of the region, the explosion of the methane-air mixture is considered the preliminary cause of the tragedy at the mine.

- The missing 35 miners were found dead. The total death toll was 52 people (46 miners and six rescuers), - said in Tsivilyov's telegram channel.

The day before, the rescue operation at the mines was suspended due to the danger of an explosion due to the high concentration of methane. Three teams of rescuers will be dispatched to the mine to fill the rocks with methane to achieve a safe level of methane concentration. The governor indicated that the work in the mine would take three days.

The regional authorities announced a three-day mourning for the victims.

Earlier, the government of the Kemerovo region announced that the families of the dead miners would receive an additional payment of 2 million rubles. In addition, the victims of an accident at an enterprise in the Kemerovo region will also receive payments.
