Those who have previously had COVID-19 may have an increased risk of contracting the new omicron coronavirus strain, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

"In the coming days and weeks", - the organization said, more detailed information on the risks will be available. They noted that the PCR tests used today can be infected with a new strain.

Earlier in the WHO they said that the omicron is not yet sufficiently studied, which means that it is too early to draw conclusions about its greater danger in comparison with the delta strain.

Moreover, the head of the World Medical Association (WMA) Frank Ulrich Montgomery has already expressed the opinion that the omicron may be even more dangerous and deadly than the Ebola virus. According to the expert, the danger is that the world has underestimated the scale of the pandemic.

Recall that on November 26, WHO held an emergency meeting, at which a new strain of coronavirus discovered in South Africa, dubbed "omicron", was named "causing concern."

This strain was first identified in Botswana and South Africa. Now it has spread to Hong Kong, Singapore, and some European countries.
