A quarter of citizens buy New Year's gifts only on the eve of the holiday

76% of Russians try to buy gifts for the New Year in advance, but 24% try to have time to do it on the eve of the holiday, followed by a survey of the online hypermarket VseInstrumenty.Ru.

The results of the study arecited by RIA Novosti.

Basically, those who buy gifts in advance do so because there are no queues - 48%, and 39% simply do not want to postpone everything until the last day.

38% are confident that with an early purchase they will be able to choose from a wider range of products. 27% are simply not ready to spend a large amount in one go. 19% also believe that the earlier they start buying gifts, the more they will be able to save on them, since stores may raise prices before the holiday.

54% of citizens want to make a gift with their own hands. 46% do not intend to do this.

44% of respondents admitted that they almost never received useless gifts. 26% receive them occasionally and 21% regularly.

Earlier, Moscow residents called socks the worst New Year gift. They would rather receive a trip as a gift.

At the same time, 51% of Russians are not ready to spend more than 5 thousand rubles on New Year's gifts.
