Migrants

Shocking figures and facts are cited by experts from the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in the collection "Analysis of migration processes and their social component in the constituent entity of the Russian Federation", fragments of which are quoted by the blog "Tolkovatel".

It turns out that the share of labor migrants with higher education ranges from 13 to 17%, which is lower than the educational level of the Russian population. For comparison: the majority of emigrants from Russia have higher education (50.4%), more than a third of secondary specialized (37.7%).

Needless to say, such a ratio of the educational level of “entering and leaving” inevitably leads to a decrease in the general level of education in Russia?

In addition, the Russian authorities chronically ignore the facts of violation of labor legislation, and this gives rise to the belief of a significant majority of respondents (81%) that it is more profitable for employers to hire migrants than local residents.

Three quarters of the respondents (74%) believe that the majority of migrants work illegally, 71% believe that migrants agree to the lowest salary, which leads to curbing the growth of the population's wages.

In this regard, scientists conclude that in the conditions of an uncontrolled market for goods and services, in which the development of shadow segments and a distorted system of interaction between market and state actors is stimulated, illegal migrants hinder the creation of an effective and civilized labor market in Russia, strengthening the elements destruction in the sphere of labor resources and relations.

Russia is actually being pulled into a "migration trap": while the labor force is cheap, it is unprofitable to buy new equipment and upgrade technologies. And one of the reasons for the acceleration of this process is the presence of a huge number of foreign migrants who are actively used by employers.
