“On the night of December 13-14, a beautiful and powerful starfall of the year from the constellation Gemini is expected! 120 meteors are predicted per hour. The Geminids can be observed all night over the southern horizon. In clear weather, bright meteors will be visible throughout Russia. But in 2021, the Moon in a phase close to the full moon will interfere with observations”, - the planetarium website says.
The planetarium reported that the Geminids are a beautiful giant meteor shower that operates annually in the first half of December. It is larger than other meteor showers, including the August Perseids.
Prior to this, the maximum flow of meteor shower fell on the night of August 12-13. Then, in clear weather, it was possible to observe a fall of up to 110 meteors per hour.
