The state prosecution requested three years in prison for the father of oppositionist Ivan Zhdanov

This was announced by his lawyer.

The state prosecution considers the pensioner guilty of fraud and official forgery. The case of the father of the Russian oppositionist is being considered by the Naryan-Mar City Court.

Recall that Yuri Zhdanov was arrested in March this year on suspicion of exceeding his official powers. The son believes that the case against his father was opened because of his opposition activities. Ivan Zhdanov previously headed the FBK * (Anti-corruption foundatin, included in the register of NPOs performing the function of a foreign agent). In his opinion, the case against his father was opened in order to put pressure on the oppositionist. Ivan Zhdanov himself left the country. He is now on the international wanted list.
