Poll: during the pandemic, a quarter of Russians abstained from medical examinations

Almost two out of five (38%) Russians visit a doctor only in case of pain or discomfort. This figure has increased by 12 points compared to 2019.

Moreover, in Russia, only 15% of residents believe that regular preventive examinations are necessary and reasonable.

For comparison, in Europe this opinion is held by 34% - more than a third of the population.

The study also showed that so far only 53% of Russians are ready to positively perceive telemedicine technologies and "go for treatment" via a webcam or via the Internet, and only in the case of a limited number of diseases.

It is currently 4 points below the European average. However, the trend for the use of telemedicine technologies continues to rapidly gain momentum, despite the fact that for three out of ten Russians (30%), personal communication with a doctor is still very important.

“The STADA Health Report study showed that due to the pandemic, almost every fifth Russian (19%) had to refuse regular visits to the doctor, necessary to monitor chronic diseases. This is almost double the European average (10%). In this regard, the issue of the availability of preventive medical examinations is still relevant.
