The Governor of the Penza Region, Oleg Melnichenko, paid a bonus to Vice Governor Sergei Fedotov (pictured) for not taking a bribe of 3 million rubles.

According to TASS, the amount of the prize was 47.2 thousand rubles. Fedotov was awarded in accordance with the law of the Penza region "On the pay of civil servants of the Penza region and persons holding public office in the Penza region". The regional administration said that Fedotov transferred the prize to the Rusfond charity fund to help seriously ill children, orphans and disabled people.

Earlier it became known that in mid-December an employee of the administration of the Kamensky district was going to take the place of the head of the district administration and offered Fedotov a bribe for complicity in this. However, the official refused and reported the fact to law enforcement officers. A criminal case was opened against the employee for attempted bribe-giving to an official. She was placed under house arrest.

In turn, the governor said that the times "when it was possible to buy positions in the Penza region" are "gone".

There is an opinion that if this amazing story were told to the Burgomaster from the script by Grigory Gorin, he would probably repeat the incorruptible: "I will not say that this is a feat, but in general there is something heroic in it".
