Russian President Vladimir Putin removed Anatoly Yakunin (pictured) from the post of deputy head of the Federal Penitentiary Service. The dismissal decree was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"To release the lieutenant general of the internal service Anatoly Ivanovich Yakunin from the post of deputy director of the Federal Penitentiary Service", - the document says.

The reason for the dismissal was not specified. The order came into force from the date of signing.

Anatoly Yakunin worked as deputy head of the department since August 3, 2020, before that he headed the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs inMoscow from 2012 to 2016.

It's worth reminding that against the backdrop of numerous facts of torture in the FSIN institutions revealed, the head of the service, Alexander Kalashnikov, was dismissed from his post at the end of November.
