But nevertheless, from the point of view of this story, which we are engaged in - exposing the torture conveyors in the FSIN institutions, this person was not involved in organizing the torture conveyors, - said the head of Gulagu.net.

At the same time, Osechkin added that Yakunin was "extremely negative" about the use of torture. The human rights activist called the fact that the ex-deputy head of the department personally visited two victims of torture in the Irkutsk colony and gave them a business card with his phone number indicative. Yakunin asked the prisoners to hand over his phone number to relatives and lawyers so that they could contact him if "someone from the FSIN tries to put pressure on them".

We will remind that yesterday it became known about the dismissal of Lieutenant General Yakunin from the post of deputy head of the Federal Penitentiary Service. He was appointed to this position in the summer of 2020.

Earlier, against the background of numerous revealed facts of torture in the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the head of the service, Alexander Kalashnikov, was dismissed from his post at the end of November. He was replaced by Arkady Gostev, the former deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
