As TASS clarified, referring to a source in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the issuance of electronic and foreign passports is not interconnected, that is, these two documents will have different legal force.

At the end of last year, the Ministry of Digital Industry announced that it would start introducing digital passports throughout the country immediately after testing in three pilot regions - Moscow, the Moscow region and Tatarstan.

Note that at the request of a citizen, it will be possible to enter the data of TIN, SNILS, as well as the driver's license number in his digital passport. The transition from the paper version to the “digital” version will be voluntary for passport holders.
