According to the center, the number of political prisoners in Belarus is growing steadily. The arrests of participants in peaceful protest actions, citizens for the use of white-red-white symbols, continue. In December, according to Viasna, there were 29 administrative arrests with a total duration of 381 days.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who is under international sanctions for human rights violations, periodically declares that there are no political prisoners in the country, but he constantly calls for finding "all these scoundrels."

Let us remind you that last year the opposition did not recognize the results of the rigged presidential elections and the beginning of the protest actions, which were harshly suppressed by the security forces.
