New government formed in Kazakhstan

As follows from the decree, a number of deputy prime ministers retained their positions. These are Roman Sklyar, Yeraly Tugzhanov, Mukhtar Tleuberdi. Mukhtar Tleuberdi will henceforth also head the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic.

Defense Minister Murat Bektanov, Interior Minister Yerlan Turgumbayev, Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev, Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Serik Shapkenov, Head of the Ministry of Finance Yerulan Zhamaubaev, Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Yuri Ilyin, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and aerospace industry Badat Musin, head of the Ministry of Ecology Serikkali Brekeshev.

Azhar Giniyat became the new Minister of Health of the country. She previously served as vice minister for this area.

The Ministry of Information and Social Development is headed by Askar Umarov, who previously served as vice minister for these issues.

Kairbek Uskenbaev became the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development. Prior to that, he was also a vice minister.

Alibek Kuantyrov, who was previously also a vice minister, became the Minister of National Economy.

Kanat Musin became the Minister of Justice. Prior to that, he chaired the Judicial Collegium for Administrative Cases at the country's Supreme Court.

Dauren Abaev was appointed Minister of Culture and Sports. Previously, he was the first deputy head of the presidential administration.

Bolat Akchulakov became the Minister of Energy. Prior to that, he was the director of asset management at the Samruk-Kazyna state fund.

Sultanov Bakhyt was appointed Minister of Trade and Integration. He will also serve as Deputy Prime Minister.

Recall that the new government in Kazakhstan was appointed after the previous one resigned on January 5. This was demanded by the protesters who took to the streets with protests right after the New Year. Initially, the protesters demanded to lower the gas price, but after the government promised to fulfill their demand, the protesters refused to disperse and demanded that the Cabinet of Ministers be dismissed.
