The Russian government decided to postpone indefinitely the second reading of the bill on the introduction of QR codes in the State Duma, explaining that the measures concerned the Delta coronavirus strain, and Omicron is already posing new challenges.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova stated this.

She indicated that in the amendments to the reading of the Federal Law "On Amendments to the Federal Law" On the Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-Being of the Population ", the opportunity will be retained after February 1 (on this day it was planned to adopt a law on QR codes) to use a negative PCR test result or a medical withdrawal instead of a QR-code.

Since November 12, two bills on the introduction of mandatory QR-codes throughout the country are under consideration in the State Duma. They are planned to be used in transport, shopping centers and restaurants. To get a digital pass, you need to be vaccinated or have evidence that a person has already had covid and has antibodies. Also, the exemption will be available to those to whom doctors have issued a medical exemption from vaccination.

Earlier, the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin indicated that consideration of the law on QR-codes is possible on December 16, if the committees appoint this date.
