Petersburg became the "coronavirus" capital of Russia and the world leader in mortality

The official Covid-19 statistics website showed shocking data for St. Petersburg - according to January 15, 540 people per 100 thousand of the population die in the northern capital of Russia. Peter's closest "competitors" are lagging behind not by interest, but at times!

Here is the table of Russian regions with coronavirus deaths.

In the first place in terms of the total number of people infected with covid, of course, Moscow is due to the predominant number of citizens in comparison with any other Russian city and region.

But now let's look at the second indicator from the left - "Number of infections per 100,000 people" . It turns out that in Moscow and St. Petersburg it is almost the same - about 16.5 thousand. And this is one and a half to three times higher than in the Russian regions, with the exception of the northwestern and northern regions - Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Pskov, Novgorod, the Republic of Karelia, Komi and the Yamalo-Nenets district, where the incidence per 100 thousand is from 11 to 14 thousand people.

If we project this data onto a map, it turns out that the spread of the coronavirus goes along the Moscow-Petersburg highway with an approach to the north of the European part of the country.

But we go further down the table and look at the extreme right indicator - "Deaths per 100 thousand people ." And here - a fantastic difference: Moscow - 301.8, St. Petersburg - 540, while the whole of Russia - 213.4 people.

The feeling of shock and anxiety for Petersburgers intensifies when you see that only 60 out of 100 thousand people die in the Kirov region, 66 in Kemerovo, 84 in Primorsky Krai, and 97 in Khabarovsk...

The difference with St. Petersburg is almost an order of magnitude (7-9 times)!

And how can this phenomenon be explained?

Bad or falsified statistics of "prosperous" regions? So it seems that we live in one country and the methods of counting are the same everywhere.

A special structure of organisms among the inhabitants of the northern capital? Also no. Average St. Petersburg residents are not much different from Siberians, Far Easterners or residents of the Chelyabinsk region, where the mortality rate, although three times higher than in Tomsk, is exactly three times less than in St. Petersburg.

So, only one conclusion suggests itself: the state of "anticoid" medicine in St. Petersburg is experiencing a real collapse.

If the city authorities and the Ministry of Health have any clear explanations for what is happening, we will gladly publish their version.

In the meantime, it’s worth recognizing that it’s better to treat people with coronavirus in St. Petersburg in some other city, where the chances of leaving the hospital alive are 2-3-9 times higher than in their native land.

BY THE WAY

540 dead people per 100 thousand sick people makes Peter one of the world leaders in this mournful indicator in every sense. Ahead of our city is only the state of Peru, where 652 people die for every 100 thousand.
