Russian pensioners will start receiving pensions indexed by 8.6% from February

Thus, from February 1, pensioners will already receive pensions indexed by 8.6%, but this increase will go in relation to the December amount of pensions, because in January the pension has already been increased by 5.9%”, - TASS quoted Bibikova as saying.

On January 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to index pensions above inflation by 8.6% in the near future. At the same time, pensions increased by 5.9% in January.

According to Novaya Gazeta, referring to the words of Bibikova, after indexation, the average pension will increase by 1,400 rubles.

“Pensions are likely to be retroactively indexed by 8.6% from January 1 this year”, - she said earlier.
