53% of Russians express concern about the new strain of the Omicron coronavirus, but 47% of citizens are not very worried about it.

Such data follows from a survey of the Rambler & Co media holding, the results of which are cited by RIA Novosti.

Due to the spread of the omicron strain, 30% of Russians intend to avoid public places and transport, 27% are going to carefully observe the mask regime, 25% are going to be revaccinated, 16% will try to leave the house less often. 2% will be vaccinated for the first time.

As for the reasons for Russians’ feelings about Omicron, 48% of citizens fear that this option is more contagious, 38% are worried that the pandemic is still not over, and for 9% the negative information background becomes a cause for concern. 5% do not want the introduction of new restrictive measures.

38% of the study participants said they would not get sick with a new strain, since they had not contracted covid in two years of the pandemic. 26% noted that they are tired of living with a sense of danger. 19% have already been ill with COVID-19, 17% are sure that the immune system will cope with the infection.

Over half of the survey participants indicated that, in their opinion, the new wave of the pandemic will end by itself, 18% expect new quarantine measures in the next couple of months, 12% are waiting for the development of a new vaccine, and 9% assume that the restrictions will last all year.

Recall that 36% of Russians who participated in the Fon Public Opinion poll said that after the end of the coronavirus pandemic, the number of jobs in the remote format will increase.
