Recall that Alexei Zaitsev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, once again reminded that Russia is not planning an invasion of Ukraine. He once again stressed that for Russia "even the thought of a forthcoming war between our peoples is unacceptable." Aleksey Zaitsev expressed hope that at the future meeting in Berlin the countries would be able to move forward in resolving the disagreements that had arisen.

At the same time, Aleksey Zaitsev recalled that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg's statement about building up forces in the east did not add a favorable background to the negotiations on security guarantees in Europe.
